Technological Innovation

• For four years, Callaway has been integrating AI into the design of its drivers. This advanced technology has now revolutionized the putter sector as well. A significant problem in putting is the loss of speed of the ball on off-center hits. It is reported that around 20% of the speed is lost at an impact point just 1 cm from the center. The "Ai-ONE Putter" reduces this speed loss to around 5%, which has been proven by extensive calculations on a supercomputer and testing with tour players. In addition, a polycarbonate window ensures visibility of the technology and the newly developed STROKE LAB 90 steel shaft offers additional stability.

The problem of speed loss when putting

• A key problem with putting is the loss of ball speed on off-center hits. Data shows that moving the impact point 1cm towards the heel or toe of the club reduces ball speed by about 20%. This means that a 10m putt can be 2m too short. Odyssey has therefore developed a new AI design that reduces this speed loss to about 5% (50cm at 10m) and gives rise to the "Ai-ONE Putter".

The insert

• The Ai-ONE putter uses an insert that consists of an aluminum part with complex ribs designed by AI and a resin part on the impact surface. Originally, Odyssey wanted to make an insert made of resin only, but encountered difficulties in reproducing the complex shape. Therefore, aluminum, originally recommended by AI, was used and combined with resin to create the final product. The resin surface contains engraved grooves to achieve the feel and sound of the White Hot insert.

• Each Ai-ONE putter features a transparent polycarbonate window that shows the shape of the back and makes a novel technology visible. The window is installed on the back of the blade model and on the sole of the mallet model.

Newly developed steel STROKE LAB 90 shaft

• The STROKE LAB shaft has been newly developed for the Ai-ONE putter. The previous shaft was made of a composite material of steel and carbon fiber. The new "STROKE LAB 90 shaft" is made of steel and weighs about 90 g. The grip area has the same thickness as the previous shaft, which reduces torque and minimizes unnecessary movement during the stroke. A counterweight inside the shaft increases the moment of inertia of the entire putter.
